The hubby and I are going to see a movie this afternoon. One of the local theatres is running a “Classics” series, playing about half a dozen old movies over the course of the year, and charging only $5 for admission. As this month’s movie is (was, by the time I post this) It’s a Wonderful Life and that has become a must-see Christmas movie for us, we’re really excited to see it. (Seeing It’s a Wonderful Life in theatres? With popcorn and everything? Yay!)

And happily, the theatre is treating it like any other movie, so we were able to purchase tickets online. I entered all of our payment information and number of tickets, and at the confirmation screen, it gave me the option to print the tickets.

As I was tweaking the printing information, M and I got into a discussion about the way online tickets used to be set-up. He was explaining how it used to be that you would have to print at least three or four different pages– each ticket on a separate page, the order confirmation on another and possibly theatre information on yet another– and he was telling me how, to prevent the waste, he would let the first ticket print out and then tug the paper back into the printer to print the second ticket, getting both tickets on one page.

Well, nowadays, if you have only a few people going, it’s all set up so you just need to print one page. For us, the order confirmation and theatre info were on the first page and the tickets were on the second. Since we didn’t need the order confirmation (it was sent to my email), I set it up so it would print only page 2, the page with the tickets on it.

But, as the printer began to churn out more pages than I bargained for, I realized that there are two places in the printer set-up to enter numbers. Which page you want to print…

… and how many copies you want to print.

Oops. :)
